Understanding how you use the space
Before making a decision, it’s important to think about these things:

Layout first, materials second
Strong garden design begins with structure.
We look at circulation, sight lines, proportions, and how the house connects to the garden. Patios need to feel generous, steps need to feel comfortable, and lawns need to sit naturally within surrounding borders.
Once the layout works, we select materials that suit both the architecture of the house and the character of the area. Whether that is tumbled limestone, brick detailing, gravel transitions, or contemporary paving, the materials should feel intentional, not decorative.
Designing for light, privacy, and longevity
Gardens change throughout the day and throughout the year. We plan for morning sun, afternoon shade, and winter structure.
Trees are positioned to frame views and create privacy without blocking light. Borders are layered so they look full and interesting, not sparse or overgrown. Evergreen structure is balanced with seasonal planting so the garden never feels empty.
We also design with maintenance in mind. A beautiful garden that is impossible to manage is not good design.
