Process highlights

Design approach:

Patio replacement - Old brick patio was replaced with elegant mint fossil Indian sandstone. This high-quality, natural stone features distinctive patterns and a subtle colour palette, adding a sophisticated touch to the garden. The sandstone’s durability and classic appearance offer a modern update while respecting the traditional character of the Victorian property.

Wooden pergola - a custom-designed wooden pergola was built to enhance the garden’s functionality and aesthetic appeal. The pergola provides a defined structure for the relaxation area, offering shade and creating a focal point that complements the contemporary design. Its natural wood finish harmonises with the sandstone and the overall Victorian charm of the garden.

The pergola was designed to accommodate concertina shades.

Contemporary relaxation area - the focus of the design was to achieve comfort and style. This space includes a seating area with modern outdoor furniture for lounging and entertaining, and a dedicated dining space for alfresco meals and gatherings. The garden has become a versatile area for both relaxation and socialising.

- Despite the modern update, the design maintained a respectful balance with the Victorian semi’s architecture. The choice of materials, colours, and design elements ensures that the new features blended seamlessly with the traditional character of the property. The result is a contemporary garden that felt integrated with its historical context.
